Helen Hunt made her starring role in the movie Rollercoaster in the year 1977. Before this movie was aired she had supporting roles in such films as Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) starring Kathleen Turner and Nicolas Cage, Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985) starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Mr. Saturday Night (1992) starring Billy Crystal and The Waterdance (1992) starring Eric Stoltz. Along with her success was her award as one of America’s best loved television couples with costar Paul Reiser.
Although her Oscar award made Helen Hunt go straight to Hollywood's A-list, she made her next starring appearance on stage, playing the charming role of Viola in an acclaimed William Shakespeare story, The Twelfth Night in year 1998. In the year 2000, Helen Hunt returned to the big screen with several long-awaited efforts, including Pay It Forward, What Women Want, Dr. T and the Women, and Cast Away. In the year of 2001, Helen Hunt was starring alongside Woody Allen in Allen's The Curse of the Jade Scorpion, a 1940s-era detective comedy also featuring Charlize Theron and Dan Ackroyd. In the year of 2007, Helen Hunt made her directorial film debut with the movie Then She Found Me. Helen Hunt played a supporting role in the movie Soul Surfer which was a 2011 true-life story.
