The American band Gossip post formed in 1999 in the town of Searcy, Arkansas. The group included three musicians: singer & writer Beth Ditto, guitarist Brace Paine and drummer Hannah Katie Mendosa. Brace and Beth introduced their common friend Hannah, who in the end and started playing the drums in their overall team. Rural Searcy, was too small for the development of the musical potential of the trio and in the same year they moved to the city of Olympia. There they signed a contract with the independent label K Records, which released soon titled EP Gossip.
January 23, 2001, the first album, called that’s Not What I Heard, released debut album label Kill Rock. The following year, on May 7, they released the EP Arkansas heat and exactly one year later, on May 6, their second album, Gossip which they called the Movement.
The first live album Undead in NYC was released on 9 September 2003 and two months later in November, drummer Hannah Katie left the band to his medical career. In its place came the current shock worker team Gossip Hannah Bliley. The first release in the new structure was a joint EP Real Damage to the electro pop singer Tracy the Plastics, which was released January 2005.
Hit Group Standing In The Way Of Control was written by lead singer Beth Ditto, who does not hide his orientation in response to the decision of the U.S. government to divest sexual minorities the right to marry. The song has also become very popular in Europe, appearing in commercials British drama series Skins on Channel 4 in 2007.
Following the success of their third album, Beth ditto has been called the coolest rock persona, according to the magazine NME, readers of the magazine and Glamour, in 2008, called it the Best International Artist. Beth Ditto has become a fashion icon and begins to communicate with people like Kate Moss and Karl Lagerfeld. Just Beth Ditto striped for the first issue of the British magazine Love.
In the summer of 2007, the band takes part in the True Colors Tour 2007 tour in support of sexual minorities, which also took part Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, Dresden Dolls, MisShapes, Erasure, The Cliks and other performers. Profits from the concerts were sent to the Society for the Protection of Human Rights. April 15, 2008 in the light goes Live In Liverpool, the album includes a CD and a DVD with the concert, which was held July 9, 2007. In the same month, Gossip drove a mini-tour, with concerts in the U.S.
After a year's break, Gossip sign a contract with a major label columbia June 23, 2009 and is their fourth studio album music for men. Energetic drum rhythms associated electronics, guitar riff and aggressive. The first single, Heavy Cross is the new hit for his singing at all the summer festivals, where he appeared Gossip.
