Erica Durance was born on June 21, 1978 Calgary, Alberta in Canada. Erica Durance's father is Joel who was a truck driver and Gail who was a librarian grew up with a brother and sister in a turkey farm in Three Hills Alberta. She is best known to be a Candian actress and producer in her role sa Lois Lane in the WB/ CW series Smallville. In the year 2012 Durance had the starring lead role in the new drama series Saving Hope. As a teenager she had  the motivation for bigger things, quoting that she has always wanted to get into a smaller area than Los Angeles if she has the chance. After high school she imediately entered The Yaletown Actors Lab to study acting along with her husband David Palffy. She started off with background work, to commercials and guest- strarring roles and after landing to more substantial roles one at a time.

In the year 2003 she had her first and only nude scene in the House of the Dead which was brought up ratings and was talked about for months. She guest- starred on The Chris Isaak Show having the role of Ashley, a girl who was on a date with the lead Chris. Erica Durance was in the Tru Calling with her character as a contender in a beauty pageant. On the Sci- Fi Channel, Erica played as an intergalactic librarian in the show Andromeda and also played the role of the love interest for Teal'c in Stargate SG-1. The Canadian show Erica Durance played as a sister to The Collector. In her famous Smallville role as Lois Lane, she started for Season 4 and was a series regular right after Season 5 and continued the role up until it finished in 2011. She was commented to be a wonderful actress who came in for the role and made everyone sure that she was Lois Lane.

After 7 long years, Durance completed her contract with Smallville at the same time did a taping for one episode of Charlie's Angels remake but sadly this show in ABC was cancelled. In the year 2012, Erica Durance starred once again for Harry's Law in NBC TV and on the same year saw Durance do a cameo in the the hit movie Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. O the summer of that year, Erica Durance began playing the lead role and was also the producer of the drama series Saving Hope. This series also had numerous stars such as Daniel Gillies and Michael Shanks. The series Saving Hope premiered both on NBC and CTV on June 7 and their Season 2 aired on June 25 of 2013.
