Carla Gugino was born on 29th August, 1971; she is a native of Sarasota, Florida in USA. She spent most of her childhood being shuttled by her mother to different locations in California. At age fifteen, she & her mother were living in San Diego while Gugino was convinced to try a modeling career in New York City. She achieved something, however soon found the fast pace of high fashion modeling too much for her & so moved to Los Angeles where she took guidance from her aunt & enrolled in acting classes to study below drama coach Gene Bua. Carla Gugino quickly found her calling like an actress & she threw herself into her studies. As she was so young, her mother insisted that she studied only 6months in Los Angeles & then back to San Diego.
She estimated on such mid 1980s shows as Who's the Boss?, Webster, Alf, and Falcon Crest, before making her film first appearance as one of the more stained members of ‘Troop Beverly Hills’,1989. She played Winona Ryder like a teen in ‘Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael’, 1990, before returning to TV work.Carla Gugino had small parts in made for Television movies before making her 1st big impression as Nan St. George, one of the boastful 19th century debutantes in ‘The Buccaneers’, 1995, based on the Edith Wharton novel. It was soon after this that Carla Gugino was cast as Michael J. Fox's live-in girlfriend, a sexy however serious City Hall reporter, in Spin City. In spite of earning good notices, she left the show after twelve episodes as the series format was changed somewhat to emphasize the working life of Fox's character.
By this time, Carla Gugino was slowly gaining knowledge in feature films. Behind a supporting role in the well-received coming-of-age drama ‘This Boy's Life’, she had her first lead as Pauly Shore's farm-bred girlfriend, in the fewer felicitous ‘Son-in-Law’. More small roles followed, for example Sarah Jessica Parker's sister in the comedy ‘Miami Rhapsody’. In the animal tale, ‘Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco’, she & sitcom co-star Fox supplied the voices for 2 dogs engaged in a romance. During 1996, she also had little supporting roles in Emilio Estevez's Vietnam-era drama ‘The War at Home’, the marital comedy ‘Wedding Bell Blues’ & Nora Ephron's angelic fantasy Michael. During 1998, she played opposite Nicolas Cage in the conspiracy thriller, Snake Eyes, & then took on the role of co-producer in ‘Judas Kiss’, which she also stars. She was a sequence regular on the critically celebrated CBS medical drama, ‘Chicago Hope’ from 1999 - 2000.
Since then, Carla Gugino has played a main role in Wayne Wang's ‘The Center of the World’ & joined Antonio Banderas in the highly accepted ‘Spy Kids trilogy’. During 2003, she landed the title role in the new ABC TV drama ‘Karen Sisco’, however the show ran less than a season. Behind playing Rebecca in the blockbuster hit ‘Night at the Museum’ opposite Ben Stiller, she joined the cast of the victorious HBO series ‘Entourage’ for several episodes.
