Amanda Seyfried is an American actress born December 3, 1985, in Pennsylvania. She broke into acting through soap operas, went on to a supporting role in HBO’s Big Love & then broke through in the movie Mean Girls. Seyfried’s father, Jack, worked as a pharmacist & her mother, Ann, as an occupational therapist. Amanda grew up in a close-knit family. Seyfried started her life through modeling at age 11 & appeared on the covers of three Francine Pascal books. The following year, Seyfried was modeling for The Limited Too with future Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester. Amanda also wanted to act & sing. She studied opera with a voice coach during her early life in film industry. Seyfried’s big break came playing Karen Smith, a ditzy popular blonde, in the super hit film Mean Girls in 2007, written by Saturday Night Live alum Tina Fey. From an early age, Seyfried suffered from anxiety attacks. She claimed these were her assets as this kind of anxiety, that obsession was helpful in her acting.
